Wesley Urban Ministries

Wesley Urban Ministries’ mission is to: decrease barriers by developing and delivering programs that address the needs of those who are marginalized; increase opportunities by providing services that help individuals achieve their full potential; and be a model and catalyst for social transformation.
Wesley Urban Ministries achieves this by providing fifteen programs across the City of Hamilton, often in neighbourhoods that experience challenges associated with low family income, poverty, social and economic barriers, cultural diversity, immigration and resettlement, language barriers, high rates of crime and are often considered at-risk populations that have limited or no access to support services.

Wesley Urban Ministries collaborates, develops, implements and delivers programs that directly respond to the specific and unique needs of those who are most vulnerable and marginalized in our community. Wesley achieves this through programming and service provision and focuses their efforts in the areas of emergency shelter and food, transitional and supportive housing, child, youth and family programs, and case management, counseling and employment services.

Wesley Urban Ministries is a leader in providing programs and support services in the Greater Hamilton community to aid individuals and families in reaching their full potential. We partner with many local community organizations to collaboratively address poverty and homelessness issues in a community that realizes over 18% of its population is challenged by the burden of poverty and low family income.

Wesley Urban Ministries believes through the delivery of vital areas of programs and services, as noted below, we can alleviate, reduce and prevent poverty and homelessness.

Our four priority areas of programming include: Emergency Food & Shelter Programs; Supportive & Transitional Housing Programs; Child, Youth and Family Programs; and Case Management, Counseling & Employment Services.
